Job Announcement -Soil Conservationist / Agronomist

NRCS is hiring a Soil Conservationist / Agronomist at the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Plant Materials Center in Fallon, Nevada.
The position will provide plant science solutions to water quality concerns, control erosion on cropland and critical areas, improve forage production and quality on pasture and rangelands, and improve wildlife habitat.
An incentive of up to $10,000 per year for 3 years may be offered, if determined eligible at the time of selection.

Pay Grade: GS 9-11 ($60,115 - $94,551 per year)
Location: Fallon, Nevada
Duties:
- Evaluate promising plant species and vegetative technologies and providing plant related information to NRCS field staff to support conservation planning for their clients.
- Administer and conduct Plant Material Center (PMC) studies to address plant material priorities for the area served.
- Prepare, review, and disseminate popular reports, technical notes, and other materials for inclusion in Field Office Technical Guide.
- Assist the PMC Manager with implementing a public relations program to improve technology transfer and to encourage interest in the Plant Material (PM) program locally, regionally, and nationwide.
