[SRM] FW: Water Leadership Institute: Applications now open

Hello! The Water Leadership Institute: Community Beyond Boundaries program invites the next generation of water leaders, ages 18+, to participate in a community-building and knowledge sharing externship program.

We are recruiting creative and curious young adults  interested in being more aware of water and climate issues, shaping solutions to community water challenges, and reimagining the future of water in the borderlands - with a focus on the South Tucson area and Ambos Nogales. Deadline to apply is September 16th.

Join the Water Leadership Institute to

  *   Learn more about water and climate impacts and solutions in your community through hands-on activities, field trips, and storytelling.

  *   Connect with peers, mentors, and organizations leading positive change.

  *   Strengthen your leadership skills.

  *   Grow your network and explore careers related to water. (There are more than you might think!)
The program is inclusive to all backgrounds, and no previous experience is necessary. However, you should show openness to learning collaboratively and sharing personal or community experiences related to water and show motivation and interest to participate fully.

Our Commitment To You:

  *   Your cohort will be up to 25 individuals from diverse backgrounds.

  *   Each participant will receive a stipend of $90 per session, to compensate for time and travel costs.

  *   Lunch and snacks will be provided at sessions.

  *   Upon completion of 3 or more sessions, you will receive a Certificate of Completion.

  *   Letters of recommendation are available upon request.
Session Dates:

  *   Saturday, September 28th (9am-3pm)

  *   Saturday, October 19th - Water Field Trip (9am-3pm)

  *   Saturday, November 16th - (9am-3pm)

  *   Saturday, December 7th - Water Leaders Panel and Graduation (9am-3pm)
