Common Ground Ecology (CGE) is seeking a qualified individual for a full-time position to develop grazing and rangeland management plans and evaluate associated conservation practices. The goal of these activities is to improve water quality within central and south Florida’s ranchlands by implementing best management practices for cattle and land management on ranches within the project area that are participating in USDA NRCS cost-share programs.
CGE is a private ecological consulting firm that specializes in projects focused on conservation and preservation of Florida ecosystems and imperiled wildlife. Our primary work involves ecological assessments of lands to ascertain the presence and relative abundance of natural communities, listed species, and other ecological values. We research and survey these properties to produce reports that are then used in the preparation of habitat management planning as well as incentive and acquisition program applications. These typically pay landowners to conserve or implement conservation practices on their properties, often in perpetuity. We have been the ecological support for the acquisition and protection of thousands of acres of land in Florida as well as many more projects that have been added to acquisition lists. We are not a large company, but we are committed to providing the utmost honest, ethical, and quality work in our field.
