Greetings! I was hoping each of you could help spread the word about a post-doctoral fellowship position with ARS that is being advertised.

Position Announcement (ORISE):
USDA-ARS Postdoctoral Fellowship in Soil Science for Continental-Scale Soil Health Interpretation.

It is fully-funded for two years, and does not require the selected applicant to move. The position will be managed by Dr. Kristen Veum, ARS, Columbia, MO.

Some important qualities needed for the position which are not covered robustly in the announcement:

  *   Knowledge and proficiency with any of the ESRI mapping products (e.g., ArcPro, ArcGIS, AGOL) is needed.
  *   Knowledge of soil taxonomy
  *   Understanding of soil mapping
  *   Understanding of soil health indicators
  *   Ability to read, understand and interpret laboratory test results related to soil health
  *   Basic understanding of farming/ranching practices and management systems
  *   Ability to work with NRCS, ARS and others in a collaborative way
