Are you interested in a career in agriculture, helping farmers and supporting conservation? We are excited to announce that the summer 2022 USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service paid internships program (with housing and stipend) is now open!

About the experience: Assist the USDA - NRCS field office staff in providing conservation planning and technical assistance to farmers, ranchers, and other types of landowners, and local officials.

  *   Learn about natural resource management strategies as NRCS technical specialist recommend ways to conserve soil, improve water quality and quantity, manage nutrients, and protect and improve wildlife habitat.
  *   Perform a combination of office work and field
  *   Be more competitive for a Pathways Internship and job with the NRCS which can lead to a full time career with the NRCS
  *   Get to explore the United States - you'll placed in a USDA-NRCS office in California or other state
  *   Learn more about the NRCS here: https://www.nrcs.usda.gov/wps/portal/nrcs/site/national/home/

To apply for these paid internships:
(1) fill out the form (link above highlighted in yellow)
(2) upload your 2 page resume and a one-page essay answering the questions "Please describe your interest in a career in the agricultural and natural resources. Describe your course work, knowledge and/or experience that makes you a good candidate for this program."

This project is in partnership between the USDA-NRCS Hispanic Workforce Development Program, the Center for Chicanx and Latinx Academic Student Success, the Student Farm, and the Educational Opportunity Program.
