Colleagues,
I'd appreciate you letting recent or soon-to-be Ph.D students you work with know about this post-doc opportunity, and please circulate more broadly or post to relevant list-servs. The post-doc position will likely start in summer or fall 2022.
Thanks,
Seth

The U.S. Geological Survey Southwest Biological Science Center in Flagstaff, AZ is recruiting a Mendenhall Postdoctoral Scholar to study the ecological effects of solar energy development in the southwestern United States. The selected post-doc will help design studies, conduct ecological monitoring with the help of a field crew, analyze large datasets, and write peer-reviewed papers on solar energy impacts. The primary field site will be in southern Nevada, but the post-doc will have an opportunity to explore cross-site impacts and synthesize data by collaborating with PIs at universities and other USGS Science Centers. The focus of studies will be plant and soil ecology, but candidates interested in wildlife, remote sensing, and other related fields are encouraged to apply. Applicants should have recently received their Ph.D., or will be soon graduating with a Ph.D. Anyone may apply but Mendenhall Fellowships are U.S. Government positions so preference will be given to U.S. citizens. Interested candidates should contact Seth Munson (smunson at usgs.gov<mailto:smunson at usgs.gov>) or Jeff Lovich (jeffrey_lovich at usgs.gov<mailto:jeffrey_lovich at usgs.gov>). Applications will be received until January 6, 2022.
