Hi everyone,

This* Saturday October 9th*, Tierra Seca has been invited to learn about
rangeland monitoring techniques at *Bar V Ranch*! Some of the techniques we
will practice will include: ground cover, frequency, dry weight rank, and
comparative yield. Monitoring is a very important component of working with
rangelands, so it's a great idea for anyone to familiarize themselves with
these practices.

We've included a sign-up sheet (
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Erfyyhd8Ifl538Ic9mbs8DAFG94ZMAWxzECwAfnp5E0/edit?usp=sharing),
so please sign up as soon as possible! At least one person already planning
to attend can take up to 7 people.

The plan is to meet at the *Chemistry parking lot* by the SW corner of the
Biosciences East building at *8:15am on Saturday morning*. Folks driving
there on their own should meet us at these coordinates off Exit 281 at Old
Sonoita Highway by 9am: 32.003536, -110.689945. We should finish by 1pm. Be
sure to wear field-appropriate clothes and bring snacks/water/sunscreen. If
you want to take any notes in the field, a small field notebook could be a
good idea, too.

Feel free to reach out to uofatierraseca at gmail.com with any questions
regarding the event.

Hope to see you there!

Eamonn Mazur (Tierra Seca club president)
