1.  Native Plant Materials Coordinator and lead field supervisor for the park Revegetation Program. Anticipated duties include:

  *   Assist with hiring and supervising a crew of 3-7 seasonal technicians and coordinate assistance from numerous volunteers and local conservation crews to execute tasks such as native seed and plant materials collection, processing and storing, soil preparation, seed sowing, planting, irrigation, monitoring, duff/litter collection and distribution, as well as temporary nursery care.
  *   Coordinate revegetation and restoration for park ecosystems ranging from low to high elevations of forest and uplands, wetlands, dry meadows, riparian and shrub communities, rare and sensitive plants. Generally associated with infrastructure improvement and meadow or forest restoration. Including all steps of planning, implementation, and post-project plant care generally on 10-15 projects annually.
  *   Review project/construction plans and develop the interrelated revegetation plans (narratives, maps, and budgets) using Microsoft and GIS software. Assist with contract development or review for nursery seed increase and plant grow-out, seeding and hydroseeding.
  *   Work with project managers, contractors, and nurseries to coordinate revegetation planning and implementation. Attend project planning meetings and weekly construction meetings as needed.
  *   Maintain the park-wide native plant materials database using Microsoft Access software.
2. Ecological Restoration Program Assistant: This position will assist the frontcountry restoration ecologist with all aspects of the restoration program, primarily focused on meadow and riverbank restoration in Yosemite Valley. Anticipated duties include:

  *   Assist with hiring and supervising a crew of 5-7 seasonal staff members and interns, including coordinating assistance from volunteers and local conservation crews. Restoration tasks include: earthmoving with heavy equipment, conifer removal, planting and sowing seed, irrigation, monitoring, invasive species removal, fence installation and duff collection.
  *   Develop and implement ecological monitoring to evaluate project success and inform management of restoration sites. Collect, analyze and manage tabular and spatial data.
  *   Assist with environmental compliance, consultation and permitting. Work with other branches and divisions within the park to provide subject matter expertise.
  *   Develop funding proposals, workplans, reports, media and outreach communications related to ecological restoration.
  *   Review broader park project plans and develop the interrelated restoration plans (narratives, maps and budgets) using Microsoft and GIS software.
  *   Contribute to inclusive and safe work practices. Maintain clear communications with supervisor, staff, partners and the public.
3. Plant Ecology Program Assistant:  This position will lead field implementation of Yosemite’s Plant Ecology Program, with diverse responsibilities, including:

  *   Design and implement scientifically sound plant ecology studies and ecological monitoring related to stewardship of vegetation communities, vegetation management and ecological restoration projects. Work activities may include: planning of data collection activities, contribution to protocol development, field data collection oversight, field staff training, summary and analysis of field data, report preparation, hazard mitigation, ecosystem condition/vulnerability assessment, status detection (inventory), trend detection (monitoring).
  *   Coordinate field implementation of plant ecology projects, including hiring, supervising, training and supporting field crews.
  *   Analyze data and report on project outcomes. Serve as technical expert for monitoring efforts, provide technical information and monitoring planning support, ensure high quality data management and analysis, manage databases and prepare and present data in written and oral presentations.
  *   Assist with environmental compliance, consultation and permitting. Work with other branches and divisions within the park to provide subject matter expertise.
  *   This position will support a variety of projects, including development of a management strategy for whitebark pine in Yosemite and Sequoia-Kings Canyon National Parks, implementation of Yosemite's Wilderness Stock Use Framework, and meadow monitoring to detect impacts from visitor use and manage for wetland plant community characteristics downstream from O-Shaughnessy Dam.
