Potential positions for recent undergraduate graduates:

The Ponisio (U Oregon) and Jha (UT Austin) labs are beginning a new long-term experiment in the Madrean Sky Islands, a unique "archipelago" of mountains surrounded by "seas" of desert. We will investigate how specific interaction patterns contribute to both short-term plant and pollinator reproduction and long-term population persistence. This work has been funded by the NSF.

We will be sampling plant-pollinator communities from SE Arizona to Northern New Mexico from July to Sept 2021. On field days we either drive or hike to sampling sites (high elevation meadows), collect pollinators from around 9:00-15:00, and then field pin back at the campsite. We car camp for around 2-5 days at a time, then return to one of two field stations (SWRS in SE AZ and the Sevilleta in central NM). We will work in teams of two, and rotate around the sampling sites. 3-4 positions are available for around three months, starting ~ July 1, 2021. We are looking for one or more crew leads as well.
