Dr. Fehmi-
If you have any range students that are going to be unemployed or bored over the holiday break coming up, I'm just starting my field season up here in Phoenix. My upland monitoring this year is going to be on the top of MLRA 40 into some chaparral. Specifically in the foothills of the Bradshaws north of Phoenix. Most of my monitoring in that area is based on Dry Weight Rank, frequency, and point cover measurements, plus key species utilization.
Logistically, BLM would sign the individuals up as volunteers, which allows them to ride in government vehicles. I'm not looking for long-term commitments or anything of that nature, more along the lines of ride-alongs so they could see what BLM does. If you have anyone that might be interested, have them contact me directly. Thanks.
