The USDA Forest Service Rocky Mountain Research Station is advertising for a Research Range Scientist (GS-12) in Reno, Nevada. Please help me distribute the attached outreach notice to your networks, online job boards, and to suitable candidates such as postdocs in Range Science.  The position is comparable to an entry level assistant research professor at a university but with emphasis on research rather than teaching.

This research is conducted over dryland ecosystems and may include not only the Great Basin and Western United States, but also national and international geographic areas. The scientist conducts research to solve problems addressing contemporary production and conservation issues for land managers via application of ecological theory and knowledge in semiarid ecosystems, including sagebrush, pinyon juniper woodlands, desert grasslands and riparian ecosystems.

We extended the outreach to May 20 and expect to have the approved position open in USA Jobs sometime in late May or June.
