JOB SUMMARY
  |
| 
The Natural Resources Manager II (Range Resource Area Manager)position isresponsible formanaging grazing leases on State Trust land located throughout the State of Arizona on behalf of the beneficiaries of the Arizona Land Trust.  The responsibilities of this position include processingrange improvementand landtreatment applicationsby reviewingapplications, conducting fieldinspections andwriting correspondence whichsummarizes projectimpacts, includingsupplemental conditionsto minimize impactsto StateTrust landresources.  
 
Summary of Job Duties:
 
·       Conductsarchaeological surveysas apara archaeologistand submits field data tothe ASLDarchaeologist for reporting the SHPO/ASM;
 
·       Assists NRCSstaff with rangelandecological siteinventories andwrites/reviews CoordinatedResource ManagementPlans withInput fromthe planning team;  
 
·       Facilitates wood/biomass sales as a function of land treatments and grassland restoration projects;
 
·       Conducts rangelandmonitoring todocument groundcover and plantcommunity responsesto climatic conditionsand grazingmanagement;  
 
·       Processes additionalAUM grazingapplications byconducting fieldinspections, recommending action,calculating actualuse andpreparing billingmemoranda.; 
 
·       Reviews andmakes initialcarrying capacity recommendationson newgrazing leaseand grazingpermit applications;  
 
·       Conducts leasecompliance andgrazing trespass investigationsby fieldinvestigation, participationin settlementconferences andpreparation ofnecessary supporting documentation;
 
·       Reviews sales,rights ofway, commercial,minerals, watersale, annexationand recreation permit applicationsand prepares awritten recommendationas to thepotential impactsof theproposed activityon StateTrust rangelands andaffected grazinglessees; 
 
·       Conducts re-appraisalsof grazinglease and grazingpermit carryingcapacities according toestablished rangelandevaluation techniquesand documentsthe resultsin amemorandum;
 
·       Prepares and updateslease filesand ranchmaps.; 
 
·       Participates inArizona HabitatPartnership meetings.;
 
·       Conducts SpecialProjects with approvalof theUnit Manager;
 
·       Prepares progress reportssummarizing projectsand taskscompleted duringthe planningperiod;
 
·       Interacts withlessees, co-workers, outsideagency personneland thepublic;
 
·       Maintains anupdated subleaseand pastureagreement fileelectronically; 
 
·       Prepares billingrequest memosfor grazingsublease surcharges;
 
·       Processes cancelledlease filesand coordinates compliancechecks withthe RangeResource AreaManagers locatedIn fieldoffices;
 
·       Applies the principles, theories, and concepts of the Arizona Management System; actively participating in daily group huddles and huddle board updates; continually identifying areas for process and quality improvement; adhering to established standard work and procedures.
