The Arizona Native Plant Society and the UA Herbarium are sponsoring a two-day grass identification workshop to be held at the University of Arizona Herbarium. The class consists of two sessions in which we will take an in depth look at grass morphology. With this knowledge and the use of proper reference materials, participants will learn to identify Arizona grass species on their own. The first session will be devoted specifically to grass morphology with lecture and hands-on lab work. On the second day, participants will be able to work independently on grass species of their own choice. Specimens will be provided for both sessions for those who don’t bring their own. Registrants will be emailed handout materials to study in advance, and hard copies in binders will be provided to each participant on the first day of the class.
