Job Description: The incumbent in this position is responsible for performing technical and specialized work functions associated with the preparation for and response to wildland fire, rescue, and disaster emergency calls for the Seminole Tribe of Florida. The individual will perform duties as a firefighter or engine operator during prescribed burning and wildfire suppression activities. The Wildland Firefighter operates and conducts regular maintenance and repairs to various equipment such as fire engines, tractors, mowers, chain saws and hand tools. High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License and/or Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) including appropriate level/endorsement(s). Must have attended and completed class “S-130 / S-190 / I-100/ I-200” firefighter training and fire behavior classes. Emergency Vehicle Operation Course (EVOC), and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or similar training is required. The individual must pass a physical agility test. Certified or have the ability to earn the “Red Card,” or Interagency Incident Qualification Card certification is required. Must demonstrate excellent written skills. Must have the ability to travel to all Reservations and work flexible work schedules including evenings, weekends and holidays.
