I’m still looking for a few undergraduate students to work with me and Justin Johnson on our rainfall simulation crew for field work this summer in Walnut Gulch. I’m mainly looking for folks willing to work hard, that enjoy being outdoors, and that have an interest in rangeland ecology and/or hydrology.

Brief job description:
The School of Natural Resources and the Environment is hiring four temporary Student Research Assistants. The ideal candidates will be conducting field hydrology experiments in, but not limited to, the United Stated Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service (USDA-ARS) Walnut Gulch Experimental Watershed (WGEW) in southern Arizona. These position will provide field support for research on the ecohydrologic impacts of invasive plants and brush management treatments on southern Arizona rangelands. Field work will include long days, perhaps 10 hr, and work stints of 4 to 8 consecutive days in each of 7 two-week periods of the summer field season. Employees will stay overnight at USDA-ARS field facilities at the WGEW but may be required to camp in cases in which facilities are not available. Duty station will be the USDA-ARS Southwest Watershed Research Center in Tucson, AZ.
