Subject: Employment Opportunity on Prescott National Forest for Botanist Intern

Hello All;

The Prescott NF will soon be participating in a hiring event in Phoenix, AZ on April 5th  and 6th where we will be hoping to fill a student intern position as a botanist. This position is being filled through the Pathways Program where students that are enrolled in a university can work during the summer, then be converted to a full-time position upon graduation if all qualifications are met. This position would work out of the Chino Valley District Office on the Forest, and would be responsible for managing invasive species as well as providing expertise in vegetation for planning, monitoring, and restoration activities. The position would start at the GS-4 level ($13.84 per hour) and could progress to the GS-9 level (currently $23.46 per hour) as education is completed and with accrued experience. The qualifications for a botanist requires a Bachelor's degree with at least 24 semester hours in botany or basic plant science. The attached flier explains the hiring event and how to participate.
