Hello all,
I hope you are having a good summer.
I was asked by a local consulting company for a list of potential student workers: "We're looking for about 6 to 8 students that can work well in the heat, are reliable, and can use GPS. The survey is located around the Rosemont area and the students need to know the difference between agaves, sotol, and beargrass (pretty simple). They will have to measure the agaves in 1-foot increments, count them, count flowering stalks, and see if there are any signs of herbivory and try to determine what might have chewed on the stalks. At least 1 person of the team will need to be able to locate the sampling unit with a GPS unit or an app that we would set up. The survey will be starting either the last week of July or first week of August and would last 3 -4 weeks." You'd work directly for them. Let me know if you are interested and I will forward your name.
