We are advertising for a seasonal biological science technician, GS-5, for summer employment on the Forest. We usually bring a crew of 2 seasonals on board in mid to late April and keep them through September. The biological science technician conducts surveys for federally-listed wildlife species (Mexican spotted owl, western yellow-billed cuckoo), conducts rangeland inventories for plant species composition, performs range inspections to assess forage utilization and status of range improvements, and may work on other assorted natural resource projects as assigned. We are a small Forest, so our seasonal workforce typically does a variety of projects. If any of your students are interested, they need to apply at the USA Jobs website to announcement number 16-TEMP-R3-0404-5BSTNR-DT. The announcement opens this Thursday, January 14th and closes next Wednesday, January 20th.
