Assistant Land Management Planner (Social Science Program Specialist/Natural Resource Specialist)
GS-0101/0401-11 (Full Time - Permanent)
Southwest Region - Tonto National Forest, Phoenix, Arizona

Please help us distribute this outreach notice for an Assistant Land Management Planner (GS-0101/0401-11) located at the Tonto NF Supervisor's Office in Phoenix, AZ. The Tonto NF is revising its Land Management Plan (i.e. Forest Plan), and  as part of this effort, we are recruiting an Assistant Planner/Social Scientist/Natural Resource Specialist to be part of our core planning team.  This position is a unique opportunity to be involved in the revision effort under the new 2012 Planning Rule, helping to lead issues related to Designated Areas (including Wilderness and Wild and Scenic Rivers), Socioeconomics, Ecology, and Recreation.  This notification is being circulated to inform prospective applicants of this upcoming opportunity, and to help make future decisions about recruitment for this position.  Individuals stating interest in this position will be notified when the vacancy announcement is posted so they can apply.
