Grand Staircase-Escalante NM is offering a fantastic position –Science Program Administrator.  This position can be filled from 3 series -0101/0401/1301 at the GS-12 level.  We are seeking someone to develop relationships and formal partnerships with outside researchers, be they with universities or other agencies. Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument is recruiting for its Science Program Administrator position.  This is a key position, working with Universities, other State and Federal Agencies and staff to facilitate research opportunities on the Monument.

This position serves as a Science Program Administrator located at the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument in Kanab, UT. The incumbent works closely with the scientific community to generate research proposals and projects which are responsive to the Monument's high-priority research needs, developing and maintaining working relationships with researchers in appropriate fields, planning, coordinating, and evaluating research proposals, projects, reports, and permits. Major duties include but are not limited to:


  *   Plans, coordinates, and administers the Monument's multi-disciplinary research program investigating complex environmental and social problems.
  *   Evaluates the scientific validity of research proposals and analyzes their potential significance for Monument and BLM purposes.
  *   Develops, administers, and coordinates cooperative research programs and projects with universities.
  *   Manages data and information management activities in support of the Monuments' research and long term monitoring program.
