Great Basin Institute is recruiting for the following positions in Reno, Bishop, Joshua Tree National Park and Central Nevada.

BLM Upland Range and Drought Monitoring Technicians, Battle Mountain, NV. Characterize current riparian-wetland condition/functionality and implement a variety of upland monitoring protocols across public lands in support of drought management decisions and/or rangeland health evaluations . (26-week position starting in May 2015). Compensation: $16.00/hour.

BLM Recreation Technician, Battle Mountain, NV. Assist with land management as it relates to recreation and visitor services. (26-week position starting in April 2015). Compensation: $16.00/hour.

BLM Wild Horse and Burro Monitoring Technician, Battle Mountain, NV. Collect and compile monitoring data within Wild Horse and Burro Herd Management Areas including but not limited to utilization, nested frequency, rangeland health indicators, water availability/condition, and wild horse or burro body condition. (May 18, 2015 -November 20, 2015). Compensation: $16.00/hour.

BLM Botanist/Riparian Vegetation Specialist, Battle Mountain, NV. Characterize current riparian-wetland condition/functionality. Information collected is used in support of drought management decisions and/or rangeland health evaluations. (May 18, 2015 - November 20, 2015). Compensation: $16.00/hour.

BLM AIM Monitoring Field Leads and Technicians, Bishop, CA, Boise, ID, Wenatchee, WA, Lander, WY. Characterize vegetation using the Assessment, Inventory and Monitoring (AIM) protocol and Interpreting Indicators of Rangeland Health (IIRH). (April 13, 2015 - July 10, 2015 for Leads in Bishop, May 11, 2015 - July 3, 2015 for Techs in Bishop, May 4, 2015 - late-September 2015 for Leads in Boise, May 11, 2015 - mid-September 2015 for Techs in Boise, May 4, 2105 - mid-August 2105 for Leads in Wenatchee, May 11, 2105 - mid-August 2015 for Techs in Wenatchee. Compensation: $1,360/bi-weekly, $75/week housing stipend and $15 field per diem for leads, $15/hour, $75/week housing stipend and $15 field per diem for Techs.

NFWF Vegetation/Habitat Assessment Field Lead, Reno. NV. Perform detailed vegetation and site data collection within population management units of the genetically distinct Bi-State Sage Grouse located along the western Nevada border where habitat restoration projects will be undertaken or are currently underway. (April 13, 2015 - August 14, 2015). Compensation: $1,392.00 bi-weekly salary.

NPS Social Media Technician (Vegetation), Joshua Tree National Park, CA. Assist with public land management as it relates to natural resources and the Park's vegetation and aid in a variety of public support activities. 53-week appointment beginning in May 2015. Compensation: $21.00/hour.
