Dear Range Students,
Welcome Back to Campus!
I present four suggestions and one update to help you navigate the system at the University of Arizona.
1. Senior Degree Check
If you plan to graduate this semester (May 2014), then you must complete a Senior Degree Check, and you should start that process as soon as possible. You initiate the process through the advisors in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Career and Academic Service office in 211 Forbes. Do not delay the start of this process!
2. Meet with your Advisor in the Range Program
Regular meetings with your advisor will help you complete your academic program more efficiently and give you insights into employment and career development opportunities. Contact me or Katie Hughes (khughes at email.arizona.edu<mailto:khughes at email.arizona.edu>) if you do not know who serves as your advisor.
3. Tierra Seca Student Club
The meetings of the Tierra Seca Student Club have not been scheduled for the Spring semester, but we should expect an announcement of those meeting days/times soon. This group provides a social network for Range Students to learn more about how to navigate the academic program and extracurricular activities to enrich your experience and build your resume. Don't hesitate to engage with them for fun and assistance.
4. Range Email List serve
We have an email list serve (srm at cals.arizona.edu<mailto:srm at cals.arizona.edu>) that is used to communicate about meetings, jobs, trips, and other topics. If you want to join this list serve, please send your email address to me.
One Update: Changing offering of RAM 436/536 Grazing Ecology and Management
We will change the offering of RAM 436/536 Grazing Ecology and Management from Spring to Fall semester starting in Spring 2015. The course will be offered in Spring 2014 (MW 9-9:50), but not again until Fall 2015 (TT 1:00-1:50). Please plan accordingly if you are expecting to graduate before December 2015.
Again, welcome back and the best of luck to you this semester!
Sincerely,
Mitch McClaran
