Subject: Field Techs Needed for NM Nectar Bat Telemetry Project

Bill, Melanie, Bill, and Mitch—do you know any recent grads or students who would like to gain experience with bats/endangered species?  We have an upcoming project for US FWS where we need 2 techs.  If you don’t know anyone specifically, would one of you post the ad on the list serve?

Here is what we need:

Two biologists to work with a team of experienced bat biologists to support telemetry efforts near Silver City New Mexico.  We will track 5 individual bats for up to 3 weeks (but may be less depending on field results). The ideal candidates will have previous telemetry experience as well as experience using a GPS, map and compass, but since we will provide a training session prior to field work, this experience is not critical.

This project is a great way to work with bat biologists and gain field experience.  Pay is $18/hour plus per diem (food and lodging). Transportation will be provided, and the field crew will leave from Tucson.  If interested please contact,
