Hello all,
How can summer be coming to an end?! Avoiding the inevitable, Fall semester
is upon us and with that comes opportunities to get involved with Tierra
Seca!
In order in which they occur:
1) *College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Welcome BBQ. *This is an event
for all incoming CALS students and a great time for Tierra Seca to show
potential new members what we are all about. The event is Friday August
22nd from 12-1pm. TS needs someone to man the table with Leland and inform
new CALS students about our club.
2) *Fall Student Involvement Fair. *You've all seen this event on the
mall...each club is given a table to (again) show potential new members
what we as a club are all about. This event is Tuesday August 26 from
10am-2pm. TS (again) needs someone to help manning the table. Please e-mail
me if you are available at any part of the day!
3)* Tierra Seca's first meeting!* There will be lots to talk about, koozies
for sale ($5!), and hopefully new members to meet. Wednesday September 10
from 12pm-1pm in BSE 214. Dates for meetings all semester will be 9/10,
9/24, 10/8, 10/22, 11/5, 11/19, 12/3.
4) *TEAM URME *For those that don't know URME stands for Undergraduate
Range Management Exam. This exam is taken at the annual SRM meeting, this
year happening in late Jan 31-Feb 6 in Sacramento, CA. We meet once a week
for study sessions and anyone is welcome to join (even with no prior
experience or knowledge). TIME AND DAYS NEED TBD! If you are interested in
joining Team URME (did I mention you get 2 credits of upper division
Independent Study?), please fill out this doodle poll:
http://doodle.com/zhgtxnq6a43zsrs9 (Please check as many possible options
you will be able to meet during for the Fall semester for a 2-hour study
session time slot!) If you want more information or have any questions,
please e-mail me back! I'd love to provide with more information.
I hope that wasn't too overwhelming! Happy end of summer and see y'all
around soon.
Best,
--
