Duties

Many vacancies - Boulder City, NV
Implements exotic plant control projects. Identifies target exotic plant species from desirable native plant species. Familiar with standard exotic plant control methods and techniques. Collects exotic plant control data and records according to standard protocols. Surveys and maps exotic plant populations using GPS handheld devices. Following instructions and standardized procedures, implements treatments, collects and organizes field data. Ensures adequate quality control of data collected. While standard methods, practices, and procedures are available to reference, the incumbent is frequently required to use judgment to make adjustments. Safely handle, transport, mix and apply herbicides to target weeds according to label restrictions. Operates, repairs and maintains various herbicide sprayer application equipment. Safely operates, repairs and maintains chainsaws while conducting natural resource related projects. Removes exotic trees, brush
and weeds using chainsaws, power weed cutters, and hand tools such as axes, hatchets, machetes and handsaws. Communicates effectively with co-workers, team leaders and supervisors. Conducts labor intensive tasks while working on a multi-person field crew implementing natural resource related projects. Develops effective professional working relationships with internal and external partners.
