 Earlier this week I received a phone call from a couple of Washington office BLM folks who want to get the word out about a program that I was not aware of and I suspect many of you are also not aware of it.  It looks like a really good opportunity for
some of our exceptional Graduate Students who will complete their programs by Aug. 31, 2012.  The application period is this month, so there is some urgency in contacting possible grad students if you have someone you think might be qualified.
 
The program is the Presidential Management Fellowship program for graduate students who will complete their degree requirements by Aug. 31, 2012.  It is operated by OPM.  I am attaching a pdf that describes the program and how and when to apply.
 
Apparently most of those who get into this program, and most who apply, are from the east coast.  Some in the BLM would like to have some students with a Western US background who might have some appreciation for the issues and cultures of the western
U.S.  
 
The people responsible for the PMF program in the BLM are:

I am told they would be willing to answer questions.
 
If not this year, perhaps next with some advance information.
