Dear RISG Co-chairs
The UNCCD Secretariat would like to get as much comment and feedback as
possible on their draft Report attached here.
The UNCCD periodically issues a "Global Land Outlook" report, and this
year, for the first time, they have focused on rangelands. It is therefore
very important that we give as much feedback as possible, *especially to
ensure that all issues specific to your regions are adequately covered*.
The GLO report will be submitted to the UNCCD expert panels for
finalization and onward submission to the Committee for Review of the
Convention (CRIC). Therefore, your early comments will be important and
appreciated.

You may remember that a month or so ago, the IYRP Working Group working on
land degradation and UNCCD related topics issued their final report for
review by the GCG. We thank all those who were able to respond with
comments. That report covered some of the topics in this GLO, and provided
8 major recommendations for the UNCCD. The final version of that report is
available here :
