Dear Igshaan,

Hope this email finds you well. Thanks for sharing your meeting notes.

>From RISG South America please receive our apologies for not participating in the last GCG meeting. We will improve our participation for future meetings.

Appreciate if you can share the link to the meeting recording.

Regarding the required information, please find our answers below in red.

* A brief update on IYRP related activities from Nov 2022 to the end of Feb 2023. We would like to populate an update for the IYRP ISG.

*	Fieldwork in the Peruvian Southern Andes were carried out from November 26 to December 16 2022 by Greta Semplici (PASTRES postdoc) and Cecilia Turin as part of the small research “Rangelands and Pastoralists of Latin America” proposed in collaboration of Pablo Manzano. Alpaca and llama pastoralists contacted during fieldwork were informed about IYRP 2026 and short videos were recorded in Aymara and Spanish.
*	First RISG SA coordination meeting (virtual) was realized in December 28 2022. It allowed to identify who continue interested in participating and supporting IYRP 2026.
*	The research proposal “Documentation of indigenous pastoralist knowledge and practices for the sustainable management of high Andean rangelands and bofedales (Andean wetlands)” was submitted on January 30 2023 by Cecilia Turin to the Endangered Material Knowledge Programme - British Museum. Right now under assessment.
*	A meeting with the Ministry of Agriculture of Peru was carried out in January 31 2023 to increase awareness on country rangelands and pastoralists and of the importance of IYRP 2026. As a result, the Government of Peru is preparing a support letter to the Government of Mongolia and IYRP 2026.
*	A webinar “Rangelands and Pastoralists of Latin America” organized by Greta Semplici and Cecilia Turin was carried out on February28 2023, where the cases of Mexico, Colombia and Peru were presented, and Pablo Manzano presented latest research.
*	The blog “The futures of the pastoralist systems of Southern Andean Peru” written by Cecilia Turin and illustrated by Greta Semplici’s photos was posted on February 25th at PASTRES.org: https://pastres.org/2023/02/24/the-futures-of-the-pastoralist-systems-of-southern-andean-peru/
*	A book on “Latin-American Pastoralism” proposed by Pablo Manzano is making little advances.

* A representative from your region (any member of your RISG) who will be part of the IYRP fundraising team. We already had some good suggestions on how to raise funds for the IYRP.

*	We may need further information to identify a person for that. We will appreciate if you could tell us what to be in this group implies, for example in terms of skills and work time. Thanks.

* Names of any interested person who would like to be part of a small IYRP group that will assist in the organisation/planning of the Traditional Knowledge Forum in 2025 in Australia. This activity will be led by our Australian colleagues and we will support them. We hope that this forum that will take place a few days before the IRC in Australia will be attended by pastoralists and other traditional knowledge holders from different regions of the world. We thus need to assess how we can assist by raising funds for pastoralists to attend.

*	Cecilia Turin’s one of research interests is indigenous pastoralist knowledge. She can assist in the organization and planning of the Forum 2025 but also contact Andean and other pastoralists to represent the region.

* Lastly, names of any person who might be interested in being part of the Indigenous Oversight Committee by providing inputs and assisting with the scope for this forum as well as other IRC 2025 events.

*	Cecilia Turin due to same reason above.

Best regards,

Cecilia

Subject: [Risgchairs] update on RISG activities

Dear RISG chairs

I hope you are all doing well.

We had a GCG meeting on 13 Feb 2023 but not all RISGs were represented. I thereby urge all RISG chairs to ensure that at least one person in your coordinating group attends the GCG meetings as very important matters are discussed.

I would like to request the following from all the regions:

*	A brief update on IYRP related activities from Nov 2022 to the end of Feb 2023. We would like to populate an update for the IYRP ISG.
*	A representative from your region (any member of your RISG) who will be part of the IYRP fundraising team. We already had some good suggestions on how to raise funds for the IYRP.
*	Lastly, names of any person who might be interested in being part of the Indigenous Oversight Committee by providing inputs and assisting with the scope for this forum as well as other IRC 2025 events.

I still need to finalize the minutes of the last GCG meeting, but I can send you a link to the recording if you need further explanations.

Kind regards

Igshaan
