Dear RISG Chairs
We would like to create an IYRP Poster that shows the many diverse
rangelands around the world. Such a Poster can be used in our exhibits, and
should also be good enough to reduce to a small size for publications.
We have 11 RISGs, and each one probably has 5-10 different rangeland
types. You can imagine that putting 50-100 pictures on a poster will be
unmanageable. So we propose the following:
1. that each RISG provides us with 3 pictures. Two of these can be the most
typical rangelands in the region, and the third would be an unusual or
striking yet important type of rangeland.
2. a small team consisting of Barb, Ann, Igshaan and myself will then try
to make a selection that would be representative across the world.
3. The images can be of rangelands and the animals grazing on it. Please
provide a low-resolution JPEG or PGN picture for now until a decision is
made, then we will ask for a high resolution image for actual production of
the Poster. Each image should come with a full caption (type of rangeland,
location, who took the photo, etc.).
I realize many of you might be on holiday or getting ready to take leave,
but it would be appreciated if you could help us with this task as soon as
possible.
Many thanks and all the best
