Assessing Soil Carbon in Global Grasslands: The Importance of Sustainable Livestock Practices 29 March 2023 14:00-15:30 CEST

Soils are the second largest carbon pool on the planet and play an important role in climate change mitigation, food security and nutrition of billions of people. Improving management practices in grasslands can boost the capacity of soils as carbon sinks,
and help countries reach their climate goals. FAO has recently released its first Global Assessment of Soil Carbon in Grasslands, which measures the baseline of stocks of soil organic carbon in grasslands and estimates their potential to sequester soil carbon.
This webinar presents the key findings of the analysis and shares insights on the state of soil carbon stocks in grassland systems in the world.
