Subject: [Iyrp-gcg] Call for inputs for the UN report on "The Situation of Mobile Indigenous Peoples"

Dear all,

I would like to inform you about an initiative by the UN Special Rapporteur on the rights of Indigenous Peoples. A call for inputs has been launched for a thematic report on "The Situation of Mobile Indigenous Peoples." This report aims to review the challenges mobile indigenous communities face and the efforts by States, Indigenous Peoples, and other stakeholders to acknowledge and respect their rights. It will be presented at the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in October 2024.

The questionnaire for inputs covers several key areas:
- Land and resource rights
- Political, economic, and social rights
- Identity, recognition, and culture
- Good practices

Submissions should be sent to hrc-sr-indigenous at un.org<mailto:hrc-sr-indigenous at un.org> by 15 March 2024 and can be in English, French, or Spanish. There is a limit of 10 pages for the inputs. You are also expected to indicate in the subject of your email "Submission to 79th General Assembly report".

I believe contributing to this report could benefit the objectives of IYRP 2026 and so the indigenous pastoralist communities and rangelands in different countries and regions.
