Dear CELEP members,

I am happy to announce that CELEP will be screening its Perspectives on Pastoralism Film Festival during the first-ever digital conference focused on restoring Africa's drylands, organised by the Global Landscapes Forum. This event takes places just before the official launch of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, which runs from 2021 to 2030.

The film festival will consist out of 4 sessions, where during each session on average 25 minutes of film will be shown, followed by a short 5-minute talk by one of our CELEP speakers and a 15-min Q&A round with the public. The agenda is as follows (below hours are in Nairobi time zone GMT+3):

  *   Session 1: Mining threats in pastoralist areas (2 June, 08:30 - 9:15) - speaker Loupa Pius
  *   Session 2: Pastoralist livelihoods in Africa (2 June, 20:15 - 21:00) - speaker Saverio Krätli
  * Session 3: Speaking truth to power: pastoralists' advocacy (3 June, 13:00 - 13:45) - speaker Christina (Echi) Gabbert
  * Session 4: Global recognition of pastoralism and its future (3 June, 19:30 - 20:30) - speakers Loupa Pius, Ann Waters-Bayerand Margareta Lelea
  * Find the full conference agenda here: https://events.globallandscapesforum.org/africa-2021/digital-agenda/
African residents have free access to the event.
Please invite your colleagues and wider network to this event. We will also be promoting this event on Twitter, so please like and retweet (see https://twitter.com/CELEP_FP).
