Looking forward to the RP meeting: networking, new collaborations, and more!
Second Reminder about State Reports:
This year, like last year, we will need your State Report completed, recorded, and sent to us by April 9th so members can view the videos before the meeting. Here’s the plan:
* DEVELOP a 5-minute state report presentation. Usually, these reports highlight work you’ve done on your webpage (or other sites) or programming in the last year, basically, anything you and your colleagues are working on that might be of interest to others. You may consider focusing on the meeting theme: adaptation. Here are examples from the 2020 RP Annual Meeting.

* RECORD or narrate the presentation in PowerPoint. If you haven’t narrated a PowerPoint before, Karen L. recorded a short how-to video<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhPdEWQhihE>, to get you started. If you just aren’t up for a narrated PowerPoint, you could develop a 1-page document with updates instead. For the narration format, do whatever you think is effective but keep the presentation to 5 minutes. If you’d like, you can use an Ignite-style presentation, a StoryMap or other creative communication technique like cowboy poetry, haikus, etc.
* SEND the narrated PowerPoint, video file (.mp4), link to YouTube video, or other recorded video, to me at adalke at arizona.edu<mailto:adalke at arizona.edu> by April 9th. We will post the state report presentations to the shared 2021 RP Annual Meeting Box folder by April 12th.
* ENJOY the posted presentations before the RP meeting on April 19th. You and other meeting participants will be able to enjoy the video state reports whenever you like before the meeting.
* DISCUSS interesting findings from state reports at the RP meeting. We will ask each of you what caught your attention in other state reports such as cool approaches, reoccurring themes, common challenges, and beyond.
Membership Call:
* The Executive Committee is seeking nominations for Secretary for 2021-2022. Serving on the Executive Commitee is a 3-year commitment. The rangeland professional will serve as secretary for one year, followed by Vice Chair the second year, and, finally, Chair. Please consider nominating yourself or someone who might be interested.
* Please encourage new rangeland professionals and agricultural librarians from your universities to join our meeting! We are activity seeking new Partners.
