Dear members of the google group of the ILC Rangelands Initiative,

On behalf of the Coalition of European Lobbies for Eastern African Pastoralism (CELEP), I would like to invite you for a webinar on Participatory Rangelands Management (PRM) in Eastern Africa. PRM is an approach which has been adopted to improve rangelands management and better secure rights to resources in pastoralist areas, improving not only technical inputs, but also strengthening governance and tenure security of rangelands.

PRM is currently being piloted in Kenya and Tanzania as part of the ILC Rangelands Initiative coordinated by RECONCILE and together with Tanzania Natural Resource Forum, the International Livestock Research Institute and Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Belgium representing CELEP. The objective of this webinar therefore is to share the experiences of applying PRM in Eastern Africa and to draw lessons from this unique approach.

The webinar will take place on 14 October and will start at 13h Central European Summer Time which is 14h Eastern African time. The webinar will be facilitated by Ken Otieno, director of RECONCILE and speakers include:

1.       Fiona Flintan, senior scientist rangelands governance at the International Livestock Research Institute
2.       Irene Aloo, Programme manager PRM program at Reconcile
3.       Zakaria Faustin and Daniel Ouma, Executive Director and PRM program manager at Tanzania Natural Resource Forum
