WINTERIZING YOUR HERD
[https://files.constantcontact.com/51cf4e1c701/c6435860-7553-426d-af17-5f52bcbe8d52.jpg]
With the winter months on their way and calving season around the corner, ranchers should begin to think and act on their winterization plan.
A large part of ranchers’ winterization plans should focus on their calves weaning plan. Weaning is a particularly stressful time for calves. However, there are ways to negate those stressors.
Emily Beal writes about tips for getting your herd through these harsh winter months<http://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?f=0011wm-ik85qmLkt1Lf8iwgtC7_2G-4zusBqWwbD1VYEeu99TFX3eg6O2fIi3EjntWLzK0RQC51dMsYDkfJGqnX3tDHaCkgRZdom4q2RDqshDn6uZSFtGx3yKJsn4xBLWEmogIMjnNZDEM_o3ykaJBoZyhahVU1dwQo5UV-ifj7H5a_4PO4LJdFWCFqfjhqBEJBYZWVxXueygQv3p5n3HX_leQ6ZHOdxy-E572BfAw4mswBlXgSbFSOyyq9F9FDQMoF&c=HNhcFb2fzDVeZdDqx3yXUiadtWtrdTi-GVvcTiG3yJn0jSIHL_45cg==&ch=v1cLL7XtpDaltMrj_RDnSUe1vm-l1OGvdBN59AflhBOxWBW1il_XNg==>.
KSU GRAZING MANAGEMENT SURVEY
The U.S. beef industry protects natural resources and biodiversity while simultaneously feeding the world. But as you know, the world does not always recognize all the great work producers do, with activists and others working to create a negative impression of the beef industry. Your assistance is needed to correct that impression. You are invited to complete a short, anonymous survey designed to gain new information on the current adoption and use of grazing management plans in the U.S. beef industry.
All responses will be kept in strict confidence, with the data analysis being released in summary form only with no identifying information included.
The survey should take approximately 20 minutes to complete and includes questions related to your cattle operation and grazing management practices. The study is being conducted by Kansas State University faculty and graduate student researchers.
To take the survey, click here<http://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?f=0011wm-ik85qmLkt1Lf8iwgtC7_2G-4zusBqWwbD1VYEeu99TFX3eg6O2fIi3EjntWLH_xkxa5ljp5R6dfKG4q9uZE2D65PJ3bcEJhM5RQQJWfWkKtqWe1_qe241G0EmhWpc1yIP3JliQoH4iItePzxWn3WEwbGE3IDBQoxzt1c49M08P5vzrRK_8evnBNXToiS&c=HNhcFb2fzDVeZdDqx3yXUiadtWtrdTi-GVvcTiG3yJn0jSIHL_45cg==&ch=v1cLL7XtpDaltMrj_RDnSUe1vm-l1OGvdBN59AflhBOxWBW1il_XNg==>.
