Subject: [RangelandsPartnership] NRCS CIG Award Announcement

Rangeland Partnership Members,

During this year's annual meeting, you heard from Dr. Jason Karl (Idaho)
about a proposal to the USDA NRCS's Conservation Innovation Grant program
entitled: "A National Grazingland Information System: Expanding
GlobalRangelands.org Through a Grazingland Thesaurus and Mobile Content
Access".

We're happy to say that the project was funded just last week!

https://www.nrcs.usda.gov/wps/portal/nrcs/detail/national/newsroom/releases/
?cid=NRCSEPRD1411217

A number of you were involved in the discussions and planning - so thank you
to all involved for your efforts!

This project will provide some funding for the RP, and allow us to pursue
innovative new enhancements - a national grazinglands vocabulary/ontology, a
grazing-centric document collection, and mobile-oriented access to these
resources - to our collective work at GlobalRangelands.org. The core
project teams are at Idaho and Arizona, but we'll be engaging a number of RP
members for help and expertise as the project progresses. I've attached the
project "factsheet" and proposal narrative to provide more details about it.

Please let me, Jason (jkarl at uidaho.edu <mailto:jkarl at uidaho.edu> ), Jeanne
Pfander (jpfander at email.arizona.edu <mailto:jpfander at email.arizona.edu> ),
or George Ruyle (gruyle at cals.arizona.edu <mailto:gruyle at cals.arizona.edu> )
know if you have any questions.

Hope your summer is going well!
