Dear Rangelands Partnership membership,

Hello! The RP annual meeting is fast approaching and I hope everyone is getting excited about heading to California! Attached is the final agenda for our meeting. A hard copy will also be provided upon your arrival, but this will give you a good idea as to what will be happening during the meeting. A few other reminders, in staying with tradition, we usually hold a raffle drawing during our time together. If you have any "swag" (t-shirts, water bottles, caps, etc.) from your institution/state that you would be willing to provide for the raffle, we would greatly appreciate you bringing any items to contribute to this fun activity.

Also, in Alaska we did a lot of brainstorming and formed a few new Task Forces. We have allotted time to work in these Task Force groups during this year's annual meeting, so I wanted to send along the lists of those who volunteered to participate in each group. If you were not at last year's meeting, there will be an opportunity for you to join a Task Force and contribute during this year's meeting as well. Below are the Task Force assignments:

* Hot Topics: Amy Ganguli, Lovina Roselle, Kelly Arizmendi, Rachel Frost, Rachel Mealor, Barb Hutchinson (tech liaison), Nicole Mason (coordinator). Purpose: Define template and emphasis for pages

* Marketing RP databases (our own sites): Rachel Frost, Rachel Mealor, Mark Thorne, Barb Hutchinson, Amy Shannon (coordinator). Purpose: Creating materials to go out; boiler-plate

* International Partnership Recruiting & Content Development: Amy Ganguli, John Kawula, Barb Hutchinson (coordinator)

* Digital Repository Harvesting (Ag Experiment Station publications, etc.): David Kruger, Jeanne Pfander, Walt Fick, Jeremy Kenyon (coordinator)

I want to close by sending my regrets in advance for not being able to attend this year's RP annual meeting in California. My husband and I are expecting our first child and my due date happens to be March 22nd (poor timing as your current RP Chair!). Fortunately, the Executive and Steering Committee have agreed to help fill in and will make sure all goes accordingly. Your current Vice-Chair, David Kruger, has agreed to take on a large role during the meeting and will step in where the Chair should be serving. I truly appreciate his and the other committee members' commitment and help in conducting this year's annual meeting. I am sorry I will not be there and I will miss seeing you all in California. The RP is such a fantastic group of people, it has been an absolute pleasure serving on the Executive Committee. Thanks to everyone for all of their work and I look forward to seeing you all next year!

Grace and peace,
Rachel
