Hello Members,
I am pleased to inform you that the Rangeland Stewardship and Health Community of Practice is now live on the eXtension website http://www.extension.org/rangelands .  I know it has been a long time coming, and we have lost a little momentum along the way. However, now that we are live, we need the help of our members more than ever.  It is important that we keep the site current and relevant to those interested in rangelands. The topics we cover are as diverse as the landscapes we work on, and we were not able to adequately address all the relevant topics for rangelands in our first effort. I hope that each of you will take a look at the current eXtension Rangelands site and help develop content in your areas of expertise. You do not have to author a full article to contribute content, there are lots of opportunities to link to existing webinars and publications that deal with timely issues in range management.  For example, many Universities are producing materials related to the drought that has affected much of the United States this past year.  These timely topics should be highlighted on our site, just like you  highlight them in your Extension programs.

Contributing original content is not the only way to assist the Rangelands COP. We also need people to review articles, answer questions submitted by users and to help promote eXtension Rangelands COP through social media and local venues.  Not familiar with eXtension or Create?  Not to worry! eXtension has plenty of useful help documents that will make you an eXtension expert. You can always contact me, the current Content Manager, for help with specific issues as well.  I am excited to see the Rangeland CoP live and look forward to working with you all to make it a valuable addition to eXtension.
