[Rangelands] eXtension CoP

Hi all,

I thought I would write just in case you hadn't caught all the recent changes and deadlines.


1.      Sherm Swanson from Nevada-Reno is taking over as the lead for the Rangelands CoP.

2.      Rachel Frost, Mindy Pratt, Lovina Roselle, and I will remain as writers.

3.      I will stay on as the eXtension Content Management Board representative.

Deadlines -

1.      We are getting close to launch, but really, really need all of your help.

a.       Extension rangeland specialists/agents - we need your participation as reviewers, content providers, and either posting frequently asked questions and/or writing answers.

b.      Librarians - we need you to read content to make sure we are writing in understandable English.

2.      We need a copy editor or multiple copy editors.  Please check with your Ag Communications shop and see if there is some who are willing to fill this critical need.  I had one at Oregon State and one at Wyoming.  Both left their positions before we got to this stage - maybe I should quit asking them.

3.      We had written that Topic Area Group leaders would be responsible for coordinating peer reviews.  That is not happening very well.  The lead writers may take this task on in collaboration with the TAG leaders.

4.      TAG leaders will still need to be the ones (or find the ones) that will do one last review after the copy editors have done their editing before the publish button is hit.

5.      We are hoping to have all the content ready to publish by mid-May.

We really need your help in getting to this final stage and going live.  Please find the time to help out and participate.

By the way, the next conference call is scheduled for May 5 at 1:00 pm Mountain Time.  Please put that on your calendar as well and plan on being on.
