<p class="MsoNormal">PUBLIC HORTICULTURE INTERNSHIP<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Interns participate in a variety of hands-on learning activities in the botanic and children’s gardens including: horticulture, education, development, volunteer management, landscape design, pest management, greenhouse production
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">and conservatory gardening. The goal of our public horticulture internship program is to promote and instill a passion for public gardens and horticultural science and theory. There are three, 12-week, paid positions available for the<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">summer of 2016. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Position Summary: At the completion of the internship, interns will be able to:<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Demonstrate high plains horticultural gardening techniques. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Promote community education through youth and adult gardening workshops.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Describe administrative aspects of running a small municipal public garden.
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Practice safe and effective horticultural tool and equipment maintenance.
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Qualifications<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Currently in or have recently completed Bachelor’s or Master’s program in horticulture or public garden management or a closely related fields.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Capable of kneeling, standing, and bending for extended periods of time<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Capable of lifting 50lbs unassisted<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Must be able to work with people from all backgrounds and abilities.

<p class="MsoNormal">Cheyenne is located thirty minutes from Medicine Bow National Forest and Curt Gowdy State Park, forty-five minutes from the University of Wyoming and Colorado State University, and ninety minutes from Denver, Colorado.
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The area boasts world-class botanizing, fishing, hiking and mountain biking.
