based modules. Course is focused on Earth systems research and module topics include: 1) Trace gas dynamics in the plant-soil continuum; 2) Flow of carbon in ecosystems; 3) Soils, water flow, and soil-plant interactions; 4) Modeling the land component of an
Earth system model. Each module includes both lectures on campus and research time at Biosphere 2. Several full days at Biosphere 2 are scheduled for this purpose. This is a unique opportunity to participate in ongoing interdisciplinary experiments at Biosphere
2!</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:12.0pt;background:white"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#222222">This is a writing emphasis course and students are graded on the research reports they write. The course is taught
by a team of Biosphere 2 scientists representing an interdisciplinary mix, Joost van Haren, <span class="il">Katerina</span> Dontsova, and Guo-Yue Niu.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
