She or he will be working with social media to keep members up to date, write blogs about local environmental issues, plus will be attending local events to inform people about what the Sierra Club is doing. The work will include general community outreach and membership development. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'><span style='font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Beyond Coal: This intern will help Sierra Club Grand Canyon (Arizona) Chapter staff to build the Beyond Coal campaign in the Tucson area. Tucson Electric Power, southern Arizona’s largest publicly-traded electrical utility, relies on coal combustion for 80 percent of its energy production. Coal is a very dirty fuel and burning it pollutes our air, causes major health problems, and is a major contributor to climate disruption. . The interns might also be working on other campaigns and initiatives that the Sierra Club Rincon Group chooses to address.
