Gain experience in both field and lab experiments while learning about local Sonoran Desert winter annual plants. In particular, projects will be focused on understanding how these plants respond to conditions associated with global climate change, namely warmer and drier weather. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal> <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Positions will begin in August and continue until spring. Duties will include both lab and field components. Willingness to learn and excitement about research required, as well as careful attention to detail and ability to work independently. Familiarity with ecological principles, plant biology, and basic statistics preferred, but not required. Students will receive research credit for work in the lab, as well as mentoring from a postdoc (Jennifer Gremer) and faculty member (Larry Venable).
