My name is Jeffery Moore and I have been a practicing horticulturalist in the Tucson area since 1992. I honed my professional development as a horticulturalist when I worked for the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum, essentially curating the cactus and succulent collection. Throughout that time, I had also established a substantial personal collection of plants native to our beloved Tucson area as well as rare, and hard to grow arid plants found around the globe from as far as South Africa. I now own and run Arid Adaptations Nursery full-time. The nursery features 14 greenhouses and approximately 500,000 plants, a pack of rescued dogs, chickens, and an eco-friendly irrigation system which salvages reusable water from the property. I welcome anyone to come to the nursery, although due to the fragile and valuable nature of some of the plants, visits must be by appointment only.

I am currently looking for a part-time Nursery Sales Assistant to help me at the Farmers Markets. You will learn a lot about arid plants such as taxonomy, optimal growing conditions, and how they handle seasonal fluctuations.
