Hi All,
Happy Monday! c: Congratulations on making it through the fourth week of school - you're a quarter of the way through the semester already! c: I'm reaching out to check in with you and make sure that you're doing all right, both in and outside of classes, and to remind you of some of the resources that are available to you, as well as some future deadlines! c:
* Finn Out of Office! C:
* I am going to be out of town and away from my office from 2/6 to 2/12, returning to my office on 2/12, next Monday. I won't have access to my email, phone, or zoom during that time, so please be sure to reach out to the General CALES Advisors if you need support. You can reach them by email at CALES-Advising at teams.arizona.edu<mailto:CALES-Advising at teams.arizona.edu> or you can schedule an appointment with them and utilize CALES CAS Drop-Ins<https://cales.arizona.edu/current-students/main-campus-advising/undergraduate-advisors#general> this week.
* I will respond to your emails and calls as soon as I can upon my return, but it may take a little while. c: Additionally, I have appointments set up for the remainder of the month, so if you would like to meet with me upon returning, please do sign up.
* CALES Learning Lab<https://cales.arizona.edu/learning-lab?_gl=1*dixnfz*_ga*MTQ0NDQ5MDU2LjE2Njg3OTIzNTE.*_ga_7PV3540XS3*MTY5NDc5Njc2OC40OTguMS4xNjk0Nzk3NzI4LjYwLjAuMA..>
* Having trouble focusing, managing time, feeling nervous for exams, or do you feel like you're struggling in certain areas? Meet with one of our wonderful CALES Learning Lab specialists! c: Shawnda Garcia and Matt Swanson are in the business of literally helping you learn how to be your best learner. They are here to work with you to determine what struggles you may be having, what help they can provide to you, and support you the whole way on your journey to understanding how you learn and work best.
* Meeting with Shawnda or Matt for the first time? Fill out this form<https://uarizona.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_2meHoRaC2fXLbgO> beforehand to let them know what you would like to work on with them! c: And if you're not sure what you want to talk about, feel free to reach out to me as well and we can fill out the form together.
* THINK Tank Tutoring<https://thinktank.arizona.edu/>
* Looking for tutoring in various subjects or for exam preparation? Visit THINK Tank in the Bartlett Student Success District! c: Though they are known for their tutoring and course support offerings, they actually do a lot more than just tutoring, like Academic Coaching to build skill sets, providing resources and help with studying, and helping you keep you organized with semesters on a page.
* CALES Life Management Services<https://cales.arizona.edu/life-management-services>
* There's a lot going on in your life right now - college, relationships, work, and figuring out the future. When you need support, you can visit our in house CALES Life Management Counselor. Ryan Daily is here to help you manage your anxiety and stress, depression, and anything else that affects your mental wellness. This service is free of charge, confidential, and located inside the Forbes Building, and available via appointment at the link above. c:
* Campus Pantry<https://campuspantry.arizona.edu/> and Campus Closet<https://uafamily.arizona.edu/news/campus-closet-service-people>
* Food insecurity is something that students on all campuses face, which is why we have the Campus Pantry available to all students and staff on campus. Food insecurity looks different to everyone - it can be a lack of transportation, financial resources, or a lack of nutritious food, which is where Campus Pantry steps in to help give students access to food and resources that they may need. All you need is your CatCard to enter! You can find their hours and distribution days at the link above. If you find yourself in a situation where you would like to donate, you are also welcome to do so, information you can also find at the link above!
* Campus Closet operates in a similar fashion, however instead of food, they offer gently used or new business, professional, or casual clothing to students, faculty, and staff on campus. You can find their information at the link above!
* The Associated Students of the University of Arizona (ASUA) Basic Needs Center<https://asuatoday.arizona.edu/basic-needs/overview>
* ASUA is a student center that is designed to assist students with needs on campus, ranging from academic, personal, and professional development. Part of this means that they have a Basic Needs page, looking at both on and off campus resources that students have access to during their time as a student. Some of their resources include the previously mentioned Campus Pantry, CAPS, and the Dean of Students office. These are useful pages to have should you need help, but you're always welcome to reach out to me as well if you have any questions or need help navigating to find something specific. c:
* LGBTQ Affairs and Women and Gender Resource Center
* LGBTQ Affairs offers a Queer Closet<https://lgbtq.arizona.edu/queer-closet> for those of you who may be looking for clothes that fit your gender needs, and they take donations of clothing, hygiene items, and make-up.
* The Women and Gender Resource Center<https://wgrc.arizona.edu/> offers a feminist pharmacy, food, and clothing supplies that is well stocked and free for use. c:
* Deadlines! (Don't Panic!) c:
* Some deadlines that are important to be aware of!
* February 1, 2024 - Last day to apply for Spring Graduation without a late fee.
* March 4, 2024 - Instructor and Dean signatures are required to ADD or CHANGE classes.
* March 4 - March 10 - Spring Break (Yay!)
* March 26, 2024 - Last day to file a GRO (full semester class), and to withdraw from a class through UAccess.
* March 27, 2024 - Instructor and Dean signatures required on a Late Change Petition to drop a class with extraordinary reason for approval.
* April 9, 2024 - Last day to submit a Late Change Petition.
* May 1, 2024 - Last day to request a complete withdrawal from all classes in the term, and the last day of classes!
* May 2, 2024 - Reading Day
* May 3, 2024 - Final exams begin.
I know this is a lot of information, and I appreciate you looking through it. c: As always, please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions, concerns, or if you would like to meet. I'm so proud of you for making it this far, and I hope you have pride in yourself as well for how far you have come! c: Have a great week, and I'll be reaching out to you again soon!
Best,
Finn
