Hi All,

This week is Fulbright Week and I wanted to remind you all of the in-person events we have coming up.

For those who may not be familiar with Fulbright please see below for a short description of the scholarship program:

As one of the most prestigious international exchange programs, Fulbright provides grants for individually designed study or research projects, or for English Teaching Assistant Programs in over 140 countries worldwide. Whether you're a recent graduate, an early career professional, or an established academic, Fulbright opens doors to unparalleled experiences and opportunities. Upon returning from their Fulbright Award, recipients will have 1 year of noncompetitive eligibility with the federal government, and should they choose to pursue a career at the federal level this would give them the upper hand when applying to jobs during their 1-year eligibility period.

In-person Fulbright Events this week:

4/4: Fulbright Reception I Honors Village Courtyard 4-6pm

This is the biggest event of Fulbright Week. We will have a panel who will speak about their experiences with the different types of Fulbright that exist. This includes application tips, stories about their experiences while abroad, etc.

This event is open to all students and alumni interested in the US Student Program (administered through ONCS) and is also open to staff/faculty who may be interested in the Fulbright Scholars Program or Fulbright Specialist Program (administered through RII).

Whether you're a potential applicant, a past recipient, or simply interested in learning more about the Fulbright Program, this reception is an excellent opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, expand your network, and explore the possibilities of international exchange.

4/5: Pizza Party with Karoly Jókay from the Fulbright Hungary Commission I Honors Village Rm 1065 I 11:30am-12:30pm

Join us for a casual conversation with Executive Director of the Fulbright Hungary Commission, Karoly Jókay.  In the world of Fulbright, it is the country commissions who make the final call on who will be awarded a Fulbright grant. Learn what makes an application standout and what can increase your chances of your application being chosen. Even if you don't intend to apply to a Fulbright in Hungary, you can still learn some tips and tricks for your application to another country and get to network with others interested in Fulbright.
