Hello all! If you are interested, please apply for the Earth Grant and Dana Liverman Scholars programs! These are excellent options for getting experiential development and learning, as well as payment or stipend money for participating in the programs. The deadline for their applications is May 12th,  so apply while you still can!

Earth Grant: Undergraduate Students

Earth Grant is a leadership development and paid internship program for UArizona students who are passionate about environmental and community resilience. Earth Grant students will have the chance to explore professional fields while contributing to real-world projects that benefit communities and the environment. Participation in the program for the 2023-2024 academic year includes:

·         5-20 hour/week paid internship ($18/hour) – see the 2023-2024 Earth Grant internships<https://air.arizona.edu/earthgrant/2023-24-internships>

·         Meet weekly to engage in activities that will help enhance leadership and professional skills, reflect on their work/concerns, and get feedback within a cohort of peers (2 credits per semester for this workshop-style training part of the program)

·         Build lasting relationships with peers and community partners

·         Option to present internship work at end-of-the-year Student Showcase

Diana Liverman Scholars: Undergraduate Students

Liverman Scholars work in a cross-disciplinary cohort to grow their environmental communication and story-telling skills while creating communication pieces to be used by environmental community partners in southern Arizona. Through authentic dialogue, peer-feedback, and near-peer mentorship, Liverman Scholars build skills that will serve them throughout their lives – collaborative decision making, problem-solving, strong communication, and connection to their local communities. Throughout the 2023-3034 academic year, Liverman Scholars will:

·         Go on four field-based expeditions with community partners

·         Complete a communication-based project with a community partner

·         Attend a weekly class meeting focused on cultivating skills in environmental storytelling, intentional listening, and communication with varying audiences

·         Present the outcomes of their projects in a Showcase setting

·         Receive mentorship from faculty mentors, graduate students, and Liverman Alumni preceptors

·         Receive 2 credits per semester

·         Receive $500 per semester (awarded at the end of the semester)
