ASEMS fosters a culture of inclusive excellence at the University of Arizona by empowering STEM students with the tools necessary to succeed while recognizing their unique backgrounds and assets.

The University of Arizona sits on the original homelands of Indigenous peoples who have stewarded this land since time immemorial. Aligning with the university’s core value of a diverse and inclusive community, it is an institutional responsibility to recognize and acknowledge the people, culture, and history that make up the Wildcat community. At the institutional level, it is important to be practice in broadening awareness throughout campus to ensure our students feel represented and valued.

Subject: BIO5 Ambassador Internship

Hello,

My name is Cameron Noble and I am a Student Assistant on the BIO5 Institute's Public Affairs Team. Jordan Pilch, a fellow Student Assistant, and I will be co-facilitating the BIO5 Institute's Ambassadors Internship for the 2021-2022 school year.

The 2021-2022 BIO5 Ambassador Internship is a unique two semester opportunity offered by the BIO5 Institute that will allow undergraduate students from all majors to earn 2 internship credits through the A Center (TLS 393/493). Through the internship program, interns will:

· Learn about the collaboration of business and science

· Learn strategies for science communications

· Attend weekly professional development workshops focused on skills such as public speaking, marketing, networking, communications, business etiquette, and more.

· Work with a BIO5 staff mentor of their choice on a project of interest on topics like grant writing, digital marketing, business administration, event planning, etc...

I am emailing you today to ask for your help in spreading the word about this internship to the students in your major. The application period for the internship begins April 7, 2021 and will be open until August 23, 2021. The link to the application is here<http://bit.ly/BIO5Ambassadors21-22> (http://bit.ly/BIO5Ambassadors21-22) and I have also attached a flyer for the program. If you have any questions or comments regarding the internship, please respond to this email, or email myself (csnoble at bio5.org<mailto:csnoble at bio5.org>), Jordan Pilch (pilchj1 at bio5.org<mailto:pilchj1 at bio5.org>), or Lily Andress (lilyandress at bio5.org<mailto:lilyandress at bio5.org>).
