GRAD SCHOOL

  1.  Recruitment Fellowship and Tuition award - UA seniors applying to UA doctoral programs

The Richard A. Harvill Award provides outstanding first year graduate student support. The award targets University of Arizona (UA) senior undergraduates, domestic and international, who are applying for admission to a doctoral track program at the UA. The mission of the Harvill Endowment is to perpetuate knowledge of Dr. Harvill, who served as UA president from 1951 to 1971, a period in which UA began its furious post-war enrollment growth, and the institution took its place among the leading research universities of the west. https://grad.arizona.edu/funding/opportunities/richard-harvill-graduate-fellowship

Award amount for 2021-22:   $12,000 cash scholarship plus full base graduate tuition

Eligibility:        UA seniors, domestic and international, who are completing their bachelor’s degree at the UA in May 2021 (no exceptions, please). UA Online, JD, MD admitted students are not eligible.
Undergraduate GPA of 3.5 or higher
Admitted to a UA doctoral track program for Fall 2021

Deadline to Apply:     March 29, 2021

This is an opportunity for students to highlight incredible faculty. For submitting a nomination students are enrolled in a raffle to win a few student union dining cards.

  1.  Plant Sciences Major Mingle (see attachment), Friday, Feb. 19th from 4:30pm – 5:30pm

This event is an opportunity to connect with some faculty and students in Plant Sciences, as well as learn more about research and internship opportunities that intersect with Plant Sciences. Lastly, we will have a representative from the Myco-Cats club (our UArizona Mycology club) to talk about what they have going on.

We have a good amount of faculty that have signed up to attend and they are really excited to get to interact with students on a more chill (outside of class) level, so I hope you can join!

All students are welcome whether you are in the major or minor, and it doesn’t matter whether you are a first-year, graduating, or anything in between 😊
