Dear Students,

I am writing to let you know of an opportunity to enjoy the Plant Sale and Demonstration Gardens at the Pima County Cooperative Extension offices near River and Campbell Ave. The site is open to the public but is especially interesting this time of year as they are fully stocked with plants for their semi-annual plant sale. The sale will take place Saturday Oct. 5th from 8am-11am at 4210 N. Campbell Ave. Tucson, AZ 85719. More information on the event can be found here<https://extension.arizona.edu/events/2019-10-05/pima-county-master-gardeners-2019-fall-plant-sale>.

Further, if you wish to gain experience propagating plants, volunteer for the plant sale now or earn internship credit (for Spring 2020), please contact Parker Filer, Pima co. Horticulture Extension Agent (parkerfiler at email.arizona.edu<mailto:parkerfiler at email.arizona.edu> ) to express interest. If you would like to consider earning internship credit Sp2020, please reach out to me this Fall to help you set up an academically meaningful project to support your work experiences there and enroll you for credit. Internship credit can be applied as elective coursework for both the Sustainable Plant Systems and Plant Sciences degrees. More information on the opportunity with the Pima Co. Cooperative Extension can be found in the attached documents.

Best regards,
Prof. Quist

Subject: Propagation Job Information

Dr. Quist,

Here is a copy of our job description, mission statement and also a sheet that describes what to expect in a typical day working on our team. This is part of the package that I give to everyone at our orientation on our first day of work in January. It's not fancy, and they are meant for volunteers, but it gives everyone a good idea of what we do, why we do it and how we do it.

Of course, if anyone really wants to see the end result of our labors, they are welcome to come over to see our nursery in the next two weeks because right before the plant sale is when it looks its best. After the plant sale on Saturday, October 5th, our shelves will be empty (hopefully!) and we'll start all over again.

Thank you so much for this opportunity and I look forward to hearing if there is interest from any of your students for an internship.
